Re-Elect   Mandy

It's primary season!

Hey neighbors! It’s Primary Season and we have an election coming up in the next few weeks — on Tuesday, June 30th. What’s a primary, you ask? And why is it so important that you vote in it?

A primary is where two members of the same party (in my case Democrats) run against each other to win the nomination, and continue on to the general election in November.

In HD42, we are a heavily Democratic district, there is not a Republican running in this cycle, so the primary race IS the election. The state representative for HD42 will be decided on JUNE 30TH! So make sure your voice is heard.

Why I'm Running

I just finished my 5th session down at the Capitol, and despite passing more than 70 bills personally (and co-sponsoring hundreds more), there’s still so much work to do! I have spent the last few years fighting to make life better for everyone here in HD42. My focus has been on housing issues — affordability, housing stock, tenants’ rights, and eviction protections. I believe that every single person should have a safe and warm place to sleep at night, and that the best way to tackle homelessness is to prevent it!

HD42 has a large renter population, and as a renter myself, I wonder if I’ll ever be able to afford to buy a house. It’s important to have renters serving in the legislature to provide insight into what 37% of the people living in Colorado are experiencing.

How do you vote?

In Colorado, registered voters receive their ballots in the mail. You fill it out and then turn that baby in, either at a drop box or an in-person voting location. Since it’s mailed to you a couple weeks before the election, you have time to consider your choices, and have PLENTY of time to get it turned in. Colorado makes it easy as can be! Here’s the link to the Arapahoe County website where you can look up all the ballot drop-boxes and voting locations. My favorite is over at the MLK Library!

And if you have any questions, reach out to my campaign at mandyforcolorado@gmail.com and we’ll make sure you get all the information you need.

If you’re not yet registered to vote, THERE’S STILL TIME! In Colorado you can register up until election day, although I recommend doing it waaaaaay sooner. How about right now? 😉Here’s the link to register. Again, lemme know if you need any help.

Get Involved

Campaigns cost money. This very website, the flyers that I bring to your door, the yard signs you see while driving around town, and most importantly, the staff that works their little hearts out — they all cost money. Please donate to my campaign so I can finish this election strong, and reach out to everyone in HD42.

And just so you know, as they say in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, “strange things are afoot at the Circle K.” And by strange things, I mean DARK MONEY. There are organizations out there that are dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars into primary races across the state, including right here in HD42. Learn more here. These orgs support candidates that align with monied and corporate interests, so surprise surprise, they don’t support me. They’ve got big wallets though, and I depend on donations from regular people to run my campaign. Click on the link to donate via ActBlue — and every dollar counts. Thanks in advance!

And aside from moolah, I’d also love your TIME. One of the best ways to contact voters is to knock on doors and make phone calls. Can I count on you? I’ll give you everything you need and I promise, it’s easy-peasy-lemon-squeezey! Please click on the link to volunteer.
